How Dupes is paid for
Dupes is paid for by subscriptions. Some links to retailers are also affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission from the retailer, at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the same as going to the retailer directly.
Which links are affiliate links
Where a retailer has approved us for its affiliate programme, run through a network such as Awin or Impact, the buy link carries that programme’s tracking. Where it hasn’t, the link is a plain link to the retailer’s own product page and we earn nothing from it. The app says so before you leave for the retailer.
Ranking is never for sale
Alternatives are ordered by how closely their published ingredients match the product you started from. Whether a link is an affiliate link, and how much commission it pays, plays no part in which products appear or in what order. No brand or retailer can pay to be shown or ranked higher.
Prices and claims
Prices, images and buy links come from retailers’ own product feeds. We never estimate or convert a price, and a product without a confirmed price is never shown as cheaper. We compare ingredients and price only. We make no claims that a product works, or that two products are identical.
What happens when you tap a buy link
We record the tap so we can account for commission. The retailer and, for an affiliate link, the network that runs its programme receive the visit as normal web traffic, and their own terms and privacy policies apply on their sites. Our privacy policy has the details.
