Browse by category

Products are only ever compared within the same category, so a face serum is compared with face serums and a shampoo with shampoos.

How it works

1

Find the product

Search by name, scan the barcode, or take a photo of a premium serum, cream, sunscreen, shampoo or treatment.

2

See the comparison

We compare its published ingredient list with other products in the same category and show the ones that share its key active ingredients.

3

Check the score, then shop

Every comparison carries a 0–100 ingredient-match score with the reasons behind it. Tap through to a retailer to buy.

0–100 The ingredient-match score is built from objective, published data: shared key actives (the largest share), overall formula similarity and product attributes such as fragrance-free. We never say a product works the same or gives the same result. We show which ingredients match and which don't.

What's covered

Skincare

Serums, moisturisers, cleansers, toners, exfoliants, eye creams, masks, oils, treatments and sunscreen.

Haircare

Shampoo, conditioner, hair masks, scalp treatments and styling. This is the newer, smaller part of the catalogue.

For retailers & brands

Dupes is a comparison and discovery app for people who already know the premium product they want. It sends shoppers to retailers who stock the products it compares. It does not sell anything itself and never handles payments.

Who we send

Shoppers who have already picked a product category and looked at specific products. They arrive with a particular product in mind, not browsing at random.

How links work

The app links out to the retailer's own product page. Where a retailer runs an affiliate programme we use its tracking links, and the app says so before the shopper leaves.

What we ask of partners

Accurate product feeds and the retailer's own terms. Prices, images and buy links come from the retailer's feed; we never estimate or convert a price.

Our standards

  • Affiliate links. Some links to retailers are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The app says so before you leave for the retailer.
  • Ranking is never for sale. Alternatives are ordered by ingredient-match score. Commission plays no part in which products appear or in what order.
  • Prices and images come from the retailer. Prices, product images and buy links come from retailers' own product feeds. We never estimate or convert a price, and a product without a confirmed price is never shown as cheaper.
  • Honest claims only. We compare ingredients and price. We don't make efficacy, medical or "identical" claims about any product, and we don't use brand logos to suggest endorsement.
