Delete your account
Last updated: 28 October 2026
You can delete your Dupes account, and the data linked to it, at any time. This page explains how, what is deleted and what is not. How we handle your data while you have an account is in the privacy policy.
In the app (iPhone and Android)
- Open Dupes and go to the Settings tab.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm. On iPhone, tap Delete account again. On Android, tap Delete.
If your app is in another language, look for: Spanish, Ajustes → Eliminar cuenta; French, Réglages → Supprimer le compte; German, Einstellungen → Konto löschen; Italian, Impostazioni → Elimina account.
If you no longer have the app
Email [email protected] with the subject “Delete my Dupes account”. Tell us the email address you signed in with:
- Sign in with Apple: the email address of your Apple ID, or the private relay address (ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com) if you chose to hide your email.
- Sign in with Google: the email address of your Google account.
Writing from that address helps. If you can’t, we may ask you to confirm the request from it before we delete anything, so that nobody else can delete your account.
What is deleted
- Your account: the sign-in identifier, your email address and any name we received when you signed in.
- Your saved dupes.
- Your photo scan records (the product identified each time; we never keep the photo).
- Your taps on retailer links, and any code you redeemed.
- Your subscription record: our copy of your subscription status, and your record at our subscription provider.
What is not deleted
- Your subscription keeps running. Deleting your account does not cancel billing. Cancel in the store to stop the next renewal. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Dupes. On Android: Google Play → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Dupes.
- The App Store or Google Play keeps its own record of your purchase. That record belongs to Apple or Google, under their privacy policies.
- Barcodes we could not recognise are stored as the number only, with nothing that links them to you, so they stay.
When it happens
In the app: deletion runs as soon as you confirm. Your account and everything listed under “What is deleted” are removed in that one step, and you are signed out. If a step fails, the app says it couldn’t delete your account and leaves you signed in, so you can try again.
By email: we delete your account once we have confirmed the request, and reply to tell you it is done. Under the GDPR we act within one month.
